Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

We accept scholarly articles, scientific studies and book reviews written preferably in English and German.

Full-length papers (not longer than 7 000 words) submitted for publication should contain the following:

  • aim/purpose
  • review of previous research on the subject
  • research methodology
  • research findings/results (evaluated and validated)
  • evidence (documented)
  • conclusions

The name(s) of the author(s), affiliation(s), e-mail address(es) should be given below the title of the article. The article should begin with an abstract of the article (up to 200 words). A paper written in German should be followed by a summary (up to 200 words) in English.

References in the body of the text should be given in parentheses, with the last name of the author followed by the year of publication, e.g. (Bassnett 2016), and where relevant, with page(s) cited, e.g. (Pedersen 2018, 106).

Appendices: Appendix or appendices should be submitted as a separate document entitled your surname_ appendix_BRIDGE.doc.

All papers will be submitted for double-blind review.

It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that the article is original, and not a plagiarism, should a plagiarism be detected, the author will be placed on a blacklist and their further submissions will not be accepted.

 

Book Reviews:
 
Reviews on selected publications can be submitted in English or German, ideally 500-800 words in length. Please use Verdana 12-point font single-spaced throughout, notes and references included.  
 
At the top of the review, please place the following information in bold: 
Author(s) of the reviewed book (Surname, Name) or Editor(s) of the reviewed book (Surname, Name (ed/s)). Year of publication. Name of the book. Place of publication: Publisher. 
 
Below place: 

Reviewed by your name + surname
Affiliation (University)
Your e-mail address
 
Book reviews can be submitted all year round and will be published based on their thematic relevance to individual issues.
