Translating Ján Uličiansky’s modern Slovak fairytale (and musical) Puss on Skates
Abstract
This article focuses on the author’s experience in translating contemporary literature in Slovak, particularly Ján Uličiansky’s Puss on Skates (Kocúr na kolieskových korčuliach, 2006) in both prose and dramatic form. It presents these as a case study of unpublished works that are usually invisible in the history of literary translation, which can be termed “ephemeral translation.”
